MAKAM PAHLAWAN FOR PAK SAMAD !

Hero's Mausoleum For the Nationalist ... For He Deserves More Than That For His Love For Malaysia.

Much has been said about Pak Samad, the NumeroUno journalist and National Hero in true sense.

His demise, at a time when the nation and its leaders are searching for their soul, is a great loss to our spirits for Pak Samad stood as the icon of truth, patriotism and unwavering nationalism.

He was thrown into jail a couple of times but the five years under the Internal Security Act (ISA) under the Umno-led Malaysia government could have been the greatest pain in his heart.

Nothing beats the pain of being betrayed by your own kind, in your own land by your own friends.

The Government that could apologise and pay-out huge amounts of money in ex-Gratia for rightfully sacked judges never bothered to even say a few words in regret for what was done to the National Hero.

Pak Samad, as Nuraina (his daughter) revealed, didn’t demand nor expect such courtesy from the Government but is it too much for Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to do so?

Is it too much to ask for since the PM and his able cabinet have literally knelt before the Bar Council and the surviving sacked judges?

It may be too late for the Government to do anything of that sort now, but the least they could do to right the wrongs of the past is to ACCORD Tan Sri Abdul Samad Ismail a hero’s farewell and place him at the Hero’s Mausoleum (Makam Pahlawan) at the National Mosque.

This is the least we could do for him, as a nation which truly respects its real Heroes.

Thank you.

Al-Fatihah. May His Soul Rest in Peace.
